Update - December 2020

Over the last 5 months, I've only had two posts on this blog.  This has really got me thinking.  I've been thinking about this channel and what is in store for it.

The bad news is that life continues to slow down the work on this channel.  I think about how I missed August's semi-annual post on the Septuagint.  I'll save it for Septuagint Day in February.  I'm sad that I missed the August date.

The good news is that I have been working on that Septuagint video.  It will be ready for February.  Additionally, about a week ago, the channel hit 20,000 subscribers!  This is a HUGE milestone.  Yet, because I've been so detached from the channel, I don't feel like celebrating.  Don't get me wrong.  This doesn't mean I will become more detached from making content.  It's just that I don't feel like a celebration is deserved since this channel has been collecting cobwebs for too long.

These are the things I've been thinking about.  Life has been very brutal and unfair for me over the last 3 years.  So much of that is beyond my control.  As I have said in previous posts, I have high expectations for the future of this channel.  I was hoping that 2020 would be a new golden-age for new content.  However, 2020 was harder than I expected.  Getting back on my feet has taken much longer than I hoped.

Yet, over all this time, my motivation and opportunity to work on new content have both increased.  I'm thankful for this!  There are a couple more significant things to get in order in my life.  After those are complete, I'll be able to devote a lot more time and energy into more videos.

On this blog, I'm purposely being vague about what's been going on in my personal life.  For my bi-annual update in July 2021, I will do the usual stuff: share statistics about the channel and future plans.  But this bi-annual video will share more personal things about me than any of the previous ones.  It's at that time when I will explain what's been going on and why videos have been very sparse over the last 3 years.

May you have a great December.  Let's celebrate the end of 2020!  We'll catch up next year.  :)
